Today we read Leviticus 11-14.
These chapters set forth laws regarding clean and unclean food, childbirth, leprosy and other skin diseases, and discharges. Being a holy people demands a holy lifestyle. Ceremonial purity is an indispensable part of worshiping the holy God, though it imposes restrictions on one’s conduct. For the Israelites this meant dietary laws. strict health requirements, and temporary quarantines after contact with potentially harmful substances. The word unclean occurs more than a hundred times in these chapters, showing that ceremonial uncleanness (which is, in fact, disobedience) is no small matter with God.

Excerpt from Daily Walk Bible
On one hand, God set up these rules to protect Israelites, like the rules our parents give to our young people. But more importantly I believe God set up these rules to help Israelites to practice their obedience. Can you put your trust entirely in God and follow every word of God? Back in the Garden of Eden, was it not that Adam and Eve didn’t follow God’s command and brought the sin to this world?
Obedience is better than sacrifice. (1 Sam 15:22). When we look at our life, do we have anything that is not following God’s words, that’s not pleasing to God?
Day by Day with Billy Graham – Strength For Today
The strength for our conquering and our victory is drawn continually from Christ. The Bible does not teach that sin is completely eradicated from the Christian in this life, but it does teach that sin shall no longer reign over you. The strength and power of sin have been broken. The Christian now has resources available to live above and beyond this world. The Bible teaches that whosoever is born of God does not practice sin. It is like the little girl who said that when the devil came knocking with a temptation, she just sent Jesus to the door.
Daily Prayer
Lord Jesus, I need Your power continually. You know how many times I am tempted.
“And those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires.”
Galatians 5:24 ESV
