Day by Day with Billy Graham – Wait Upon the Lord
Jerome, one of the early Christians, said, \u201cIgnorance of the Bible means ignorance of Christ.\u201d Job once said, \u201cI have esteemed the words of his mouth more than my necessary food.\u201d Jeremiah said, \u201cThy words were found and I did eat them; and thy word was unto me the joy and rejoicing of mine heart.\u201d To read the Bible one needs a \u201cquiet time.\u201d Christian students often ask, \u201cHow do you maintain your spiritual high? What do you do on a daily basis?\u201d I tell them about my \u201cquiet time.\u201d Some days it is in the early\u2014sometimes late\u2014morning, sometimes evening. Without it, my Christian life would be a wilderness. Isaiah said, \u201cThey that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles, they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint\u201d (Isaiah 40:31). So gain the strength of eagles, as the prophet suggested. Set a time each day when you can spend a few minutes alone with God.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dear Lord, teach us to wait upon You, that we may know Your strength.
